This policy explains what Question Tennis collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Question Tennis is operated by Moonbeans Games. We try to keep things simple — if anything here is unclear, email josh@nightzookeeper.com and we’ll explain.

1. What we collect

The data we hold falls into a few small buckets:

• Account info — your email address and the display name you choose when you sign up. Both are optional; you can play the daily match without an account.
• Device identifier — a random ID stored in your browser’s localStorage so we can keep your stats and streak between visits.
• Game stats — daily scores, streaks, match results, and which questions you’ve answered. These power the league table and stop you seeing the same question twice in a row.
• Telemetry — anonymous play events (shots taken, time-on-question) used to tune difficulty and detect bugs.

We do not collect payment details. Merchandise is handled by a separate provider (see below).

2. How we use it

• To run the game — show your streak, score your matches, place you on the league.
• To send you a magic link when you sign in or recover your account.
• To diagnose crashes and improve question quality.
• Occasionally, to email you about new features or seasonal events. You can opt out at any time.

3. Cookies and local storage

We use browser localStorage for your device ID, theme preference, streak data, and a rolling list of questions you’ve already seen. We use first-party cookies from our auth provider (Supabase) to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site trackers.

4. Third-party services

To run the service we share data with a small number of providers:

• Supabase — stores your account, profile, and daily results (EU region).
• Vercel — hosts the website and processes incoming requests.
• Sentry — captures error reports so we can fix crashes. We scrub personal info before sending.
• Anthropic (Claude API) — generates the daily current-affairs questions. No player data is sent.
• NewsAPI — provides the news headlines used as source material for daily questions. No player data is sent.
• Fourthwall — handles all merchandise orders if you visit the shop. Their privacy policy applies once you leave our site.

5. How long we keep it

Account info is kept for as long as your account exists. Game stats are kept indefinitely so your all-time records survive. Telemetry events are kept for up to 12 months and then aggregated. Error reports are kept for 90 days.

6. Your rights

You can access, correct, or delete your data at any time. The fastest way is via your account page — there’s a delete button that removes your profile, stats, and telemetry. You can also email josh@nightzookeeper.com and we’ll handle it within 30 days. If you’re in the UK or EU, you have additional rights under GDPR including the right to lodge a complaint with the ICO.

7. Children

Question Tennis is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has signed up, email josh@nightzookeeper.com and we’ll remove the account.

8. Changes to this policy

We’ll update the date at the top of this page when anything material changes. Significant changes will be announced in-app.
